The Children's Centre wins top award at Isle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence.

The Villa Marina played host to the prestigious Isle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence, honouring success in the Isle of Man.

The Children's Centre came home victorious after winning the much coveted Isle of Man Government Freedom to Flourish award. Presented by Hon. Alan Bell MHK, Minister for Treasury, Mr Bell commented "In the good times we fight, we argue and we fall out,' he said. "But when that family is threatened we come together as one and draw on our collective strength."

His speech summed up the mood at the Awards for Excellence as he described the Island's community as being like an extended family before presenting the Freedom to Flourish Award to a local charity that embodies the Freedom to Flourish ethos fully in all that it does.

Accepting the award on behalf of the charity, John Knight, chief executive of The Children's Centre said, "working with over 1000 children, young people and families each week, our organisation aims to empower each and every individual to reach their full potential and flourish here on the Isle of Man. We are here for all the Island's community, striving to put children, young people and families first."
